Vineyard properties in the North Fork Valley

Who would have thunk it but the North Fork Valley on Colorado's gorgeous Western Slope is home to some of the best wineries in the state. The cool days and warm nights lend themselves to growing conditions that are similar to world renowned wine regions such as France's Burgundy and Oregon's Willamette Valley. That is not to say that the right varieties must be planted in order to survive but if its the right grape it will grow here. The wine making styles here vary and even though many
winemakers get their grapes from the same vines, the unique thumbprint of each is so evident in the finished nectar. Some of my local faves include: 5680 Vineyards, Alfred Eames Cellars, and the Black Bridge Winery. For those of you wishing to try their hands at this fine craft, I happen to specialize in vineyard/orchard properties.  Questions  about local wineries? I am happy to answer those too if you would like to email me at - ashtrego@hotmail.com
